"IMPORTANT NJ TAX INFORMATION"

The State of NJ, Department of the Treasury, Division of Taxation, is mailing out letters to people who retired in 2004 and 2005 for NJ State Income tax owed on their pensions.  Nomally taxes are not paid for the first 18 months due to contributions already made by the employee; once they are used up NJ tax is then paid. If this has happened to you, as a retiree, you need to send them a copy of the letter from the NJ PENSION SYSTEM showing your contributions.  Here is a link that may help explain http://www.state.nj.us/treasury/pensions/fact12.htm

"Current Membership"

If you did not receive a newsletter in the mail you can still renew for 2009 by sending the yearly dues of $40 payable to "NJ State PBA Local 600" and mail it to "158 Main Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095"  Please include your name, current address, and the PBA local you were a member of when you retired.

Remember, the optional VSP Vision Plan, American Hearing Aid Association Plan, AFLAC insurance and the revised Denex Dental Plan are only available to fully paid members of Local 600.

Current Members, you can now print out the new "SURVIVOR INFORMATION BULLETIN" found in the FAQ's tab under "Survivors Benefits".  This section of the FAQ's tab can only be accessed if you sign in with the Username and Password.

 PLEASE NOTE:

Rumors have been spreading that the State is going to lower the monthly Police & Fireman's pension payments. Verification with the NJSPBA Pension Representative, Regina Herz, proved that this is not the truth nor is it possible with out the NJ Legislation changing the laws governing our pension payments.

THIS IS NOT HAPPENING !
